Project Description:

In the following project, you will revise a document describing do-it-yourself backyard projects. As you revise text, adjust margins and page orientation, check spelling, and add a watermark and document properties, you create an attractive document.

Start Word. Download and open the file named Exp19_Word_Ch01_ML2_Backyard.doc. Grader has automatically added   your last name to the beginning of the filename. Ensure that nonprinting   characters are displayed. The document was originally saved in an earlier   version of Word, so you should save it as a Word Document with the same filename.

Change the   orientation to Portrait. Add a page number footer. The page number should be   placed at the bottom-center of the page with the Plain Number 2 selection.   Close the footer.
 

  Note, Mac users, use the default page number format.

Place the insertion   point at the end of the document. Insert text from Fish.docx. Scroll to   the top of page 2. Change the word Create   to Build.

Check the document   for spelling and grammatical errors. The word Delite is not misspelled, as it is a brand name. Because there is   no correct suggestion for the word layer,   you will need to manually change it. Ignore any grammatical or clarity   concerns.

Change margins to   Narrow. Insert a page break immediately to the left of Build a Backyard Fish Pond so that it begins on a new page.

Click after the word noticed and before the comma in the   third sentence of the first body paragraph of directions on page 2. Remove   the comma and the following space. Insert an Em Dash.

Click after the words   Paving Delite on page 1, but before   the closing parenthesis in the first paragraph of directions under What to do. Insert a trademark symbol.

Add a watermark with   the text Backyard Bonanza shown in Red. The watermark   should be horizontal.

List Backyard   Bonanza   as the author in Document Properties, replacing any existing author. The   subject is Backyard Projects.

Save and close Exp19_Word_Ch01_ML2_Backyard.docx.   Exit Word. Submit the file as directed.
